On behalf of Levendale School Parents & Teachers Association (PTA), I would like to extend you a warm welcome. Levendale School PTA is a friendly, lively and dynamic group of parents, carers and school staff, all committed to supporting our school and it’s pupils by raising funds.
Please take a look at some of the fantastic things we have been involved in providing for the school!
This is only a tiny proportion of the things the PTA have provided for school!
Why do we fund raise?
Our children are the single most important thing in our lives and we all want to know that their time in school will be enriching, inspiring, instructive and of course, educational. This comes at a cost.
The PTA raises funds for the ‘extras’ not provided in the block funding allocated to the school by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).
Across 2018-2019, from funds raised, the PTA were able to provide:
- Topic-related cooking workshops for Y1-Y6
- An annual pantomime for all children
- Book bags for EYFS starters
- Y6 Leavers’ hoodies
- Balance bikes and helmets for Early Years
- Stone Age theme day for Y3
- Golden Time resources for the school
- Sports kit for external sporting competitions
- £2,000 towards IT infrastructure for the school
- Hardwick Park Science and Art workshops for Y1
- Nursery home area sofa
- End of SATs treats for Y6
Our main fundraising activities were:
- Termly discos
- Christmas market
- ‘Elfridges’ (Secret Santa Shop)
- Christmas Family Night
- Costume Shop
- Aviva Community Fund Award
- Seasonal raffles
- Non-uniform days
- Bags2School clothing collection
- Easter treasure hunt
- Summer Fair
- Break the Rules day
Who can join the PTA?
It’s not just for mums! Every parent/carer is automatically a member of the PTA: we can only exist with the support of parents in the school, sharing a common cause to raise funds for the children to enhance their experience at Levendale. The PTA is a mix of parents/carers that work together for the benefit of the children: some of us are stay-at-home parents; some work full- or part-time – none of us are specialists in fundraising but we work as a team to share ideas which is immensely rewarding!
What does joining the PTA involve?
The level of involvement is up to you! You can be involved as much or as little as you’d like, from joining the committee to volunteering at events or coming along to support them, you would be guaranteed a warm welcome and it would be greatly appreciated.
